PLANTAR FASCIITIS
What Is Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis is a common cause of heel pain involving inflammation of the plantar fascia, a strong, ligament-like band of tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot from the heel to the toes. This fascia supports the foot's arch and connects the bones. Overuse or excessive stretching can damage the plantar fascia, leading to inflammation and pain, especially when walking. While typically affecting one foot, it can occur in both.
